Dear Anthea
Thank you so much for helping us celebrate Harmony Day by bringing  your Afrofusion workshop to school. It was great fun and very special  to the meaning of Harmony Day.
With much appreciation
The students and teachers at the Sunshine Coast Intensive English Unit  and Nambour Primary School.
Hope we see you again.

All my percussion teachers suggested I would be better skilled if I included dance in my practice, and my initial contact with Anthea was in the context of improving my drumming. I left my first Afrofusion dance class and most subsequent classes drenched in sweat, pumped and feeling much more confident in being able to move and express with my body. Not only had I enjoyed a very fun and healthy hour, but also experienced a true cultural exchange. As it happens Anthea is not only a skilled exponent of her African heritage dance but also a highly trained dancer and teacher in many other dance disciplines. She has over the last year conducted tuition in Latin dance styles and facilitated musical events to promote dancing and opportunities to practice. I totally recommend her classes which she now runs from her studio in Doonan

I attended one of Anthea's early dance classes and before she started the hard task of teaching me rhythm she insisted on teaching me to walk.  Walk! I can walk I thought but then realised that I walked apologetically, with a stoop, hiding my body.  Anthea had me strutting around like a peacock by the end of that first session.  I can honestly say you cannot dance well without my inner African.  My proud walk still remains today, several years later. But it's more than a new walk, it's a change of attitude.  Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Hi Anthea,
I would like to make the following recommendation:
We are a small highschool group, looking for an activity which would not only provide physical fitness across a range of fitness levels, but also something which would engage the students with challenges in a fun way, as well as increasing their depth of knowledge of a different country.
Antheas' "Boot Dancing" was perfect for the job! The children learned about African history and lifestyle, whilst engaged in developing their co-ordination, and group work skills. Anthea has a relaxed, yet focused approach that the children related well to which always helps with teenagers who may not be motivated to get involved in a group activity. Whilst the boot dancing was challenging , it was not too hard, and judging by the laughter in class, it was fun at the same time. I highly recommend this activity for all ages, and hope you enjoy as much as we did.
Kind regards, Heidi Locke
