Andalou Eye Cream

TUESDAY REVIEW

Andalou Naturals brightening eye serum

🔹Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice*= organic. Aloe Vera. leaf juice. Skin conditioning, anti inflammatory, antioxidant and moisturising also softens the skin.
🔹Purified Water (Aqua)= Water, a solvent for ingredients that do not like to dissolve in oils but rather in water.  Usually number one of the ingredients list so it makes up majority of the product. The water used in cosmetics is purified and deionized (it means that almost all of the mineral ions inside it is removed). This way, the products can stay more stable over time.
🔹Cetyl Alcohol= Vegetable oil derived. Safe for most people in use up to 50% of the product. May cause irritation in sensitive skin. Helps soften scalp, provides lotion like properties.
🔹Stearyl Alcohol= Safe for most people but can cause some allergic reactions like dermatitis or eczema. May be GM, may be animal derived, May be Palm oil derived, OR may be prepared from sperm whale oil! This company seems to be trying to do the right thing, so I’m going to assume Palm oil here and hoping it’s sustainable. Again we won’t know unless writing into the company.
🔹Vegetable Glycerin,
🔹Fruit Stem Cells (Malus Domestica, Solar Vitis) and BioActive Berry Complex*, Lycium Barbarum (Goji) Fruit Extract, 🔹Sodium PCA= Sodium PCA is a naturally occurring humectant that functions as a hydrating agent and a skin-replenishing ingredient. Synthetic, safe for most people. Those sensitive to msg my wish to avoid.
🔹Sodium Hyaluronate= A skin conditioning agent. Overall hazard low. Determined safe for use in cosmetics, subject to concentration or use limitations – Safe for use in cosmetics with some qualifications

Hydrolyzed Rice Protein,
Aspalathus Linearis (Rooibos) Extract*, Hibiscus Rosa-Sinensis Flower Extract*, Camellia Sinensis (White Tea) Leaf Extract*,
🔹Curcuma Longa (Turmeric) Root Extract*, Chamomilla Recutita (Chamomile) Flower Extract*,
Laminaria Digitata (Kelp) Extract, 🔹Allantoin= Safe for most people. Found in extracts of comfrey. May be plant or animal derived. May be synthetic. May cause eye irritation. Safe as used up to 5% CIR. Used to keep skin in optimal condition.

🔹Ethylhexylglycerin= The EWG rage this ingredient as a 2/10 score. commonly used as part of a preservative system in cosmetic preparations. Classified as irritant. Safe for most people. Ethylhexylglycerin has multiple benefits including acting as mild humectant, an emollient and can improve the skin feel of cosmetic formulations. Not assessed for safety in cosmetics.
🔹Hippophae Rhamnoides (Sea Buckthorn) Oil* *Certified Organic Ingredients Fair Trade Ingredients

🔸 It is not very often I review a great product. I purposely haven’t reviewed every single ingredient as there are quite a lot, but the ones I have left out are plant based extracts. I do love this brand and the way they actually break down and explain their ingredients which makes it much easier as a customer to understand what ingredients are in a product. A great choice 👍🏻
