Weleda White Mallow Body Lotion

TUESDAY REVIEW

Weleda white Mallow body lotion

[Fragrance free, soothe and protect sensitive, dry or eczema-prone skin]

*This product should be avoided for babies 0-6 months until they have orally tolerated the below food proteins. Once they have had repeated oral exposure with no signs of allergy, these ingredients may be used on the skin. Always patch test for signs of allergy.

*Potential allergenic ingredients in food protein/nut oils: Coconut Oil, Sesame Seed Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Beeswax.

This particular cream has excellent ingredients. I’ve added these here just to show some possible concerns with Glyceryl Caprylate and also to highlight squalene as this can be both animal (from sharks liver) and plant derived. In this case it is plant-derived.

*Glyceryl Caprylate= Glycerin Based Conditioner) = May cause irritation to the skin, eyes or lungs. Safe for most people if used in up to 5% of the product. May be Genetically Modified, May be animal derived, may be Palm oil derived. Best avoided if vegan

*Squalene = Plant derived. It can reduce redness and swelling. Squalene is a mega-hydrator that acts as a barrier to keep moisture locked in so skin is soft, supple and plump for longer.

Weleda is a really great low-tox German brand and I love that most of the ingredients here are organic. If you were to swap to a brand like this, you would be making a great low-tox swap. I always try to support Australian brands where I can, however I will equally support products with clean ingredients at an affordable rate.
